Excursion to Xàtiva and Anna
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Number 4 on Calle de la Blanquería before leaving Valencia behind and making our way towards our first destination: Xàtiva
After a journey of around 60km (37 miles), we'll head to the hill where Xàtiva Castle is located. This historic fortress is divided into two areas, the Castell Menor and Castell Major, which stand on Iberian and Roman ruins. We'll discover the history and the use that this fortification once had, and we'll also have some amazing views of the town due to its privileged location in the mountains.
Our next stop will be Xàtiva's old town, where we'll learn about the history of this town that was the birthplace of the Borgia Popes and the relevance it had to the King of Valencia. Did you know that the town was burned down in the 18th century? You'll hear all about how it rose back up from the ashes!
We'll continue our tour by making our way towards Anna, a small town where we'll visit the Palacio de los Condes de Cervellón (Palace of the Counts of Cervellón), located in the heart of the historic centre. Ready to discover this ostentatiously decorated building?
After visiting the palace and learning about its history, we'll begin our return journey, but not before stopping off at Lake Anna, popularly known as the Albufera of Anna - a natural spectacle!
Finally, after 7 hours in total, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point in Valencia.
