Valencia Cathedral + Borgia Legacy Tour

We'll kick off our guided tour of the Borgia Family in Valencia by meeting at the indicated time at Manises Square, right in front of the Palace of the Generalitat.

Following a brief introduction in front of the presidential palace, we'll begin our route through the city in search of the Borgia Legacy. This powerful family, originally from the Zaragozan region of Borja, settled in the Levantine coastal areas of Jativa and Gandia. We'll see how their reach stretched from city to city to the capital city.

Throughout our guided tour of Valencia, we'll pause at various churches and palaces to contemplate their architecture and appreciate the different symbols of the Borgia family within them. The Borgia also boasted an in-depth art collection featuring many renowned pieces like the Holy Grail. Is there any merit behind this legend? We'll find out on our visit to the Valencia Cathedral!

As we enter the cathedral, we'll continue our deep dive into the legacy of the Borgia family, as they are closely tied to the church. Within the Borgia family, not one but two members became Pope: Calixtus III and Alexander VI.

Then, after 2.5 hours, we'll bring our tour to an end at St. Lawrence Square. Here, you'll find the current seat of the Valencian Parliament, within the Palace of Benicarló. Fun fact: this site was also owned by the Borgia family!
