La Albufera Nature Park + Cullera Excursion
Description
After meeting at the scheduled time on Calle de la Blanquería, we'll begin the journey towards our adventure in the heart of the Valencian coastline. Let's go!
After 45 minutes, we'll arrive at Cullera, a city which has been populated since more than 25,000 years ago. Due to its antiquity, we'll stop off at its historic centre, where we'll learn about the political and social events that shaped the culture here.
Of course, we'll also visit the Cullera Castle, located next to the fortress and walls from the 13th century, and the Santuario de la Virgen del Castillo. All impressive buildings that we'll come across as we walk along the Camino del Calvario. The views from there will be amazing!
We'll continue our tour around Cullera at Playa de Los Olivos and Playa Del Racó. We'll enjoy the sea breeze of the Mediterranean and the atmosphere before starting our journey towards La Alburfera Nature Park.
Once we've arrived at La Albufera, we'll discover this authentic oasis full of rice paddies. Did you know that this location has much to do with the origin of Valencian paella? We'll learn about this and much more as we explore this stunning spot.
With the sun beginning to set, we'll enjoy a stroll along the banks of these wetlands. As well as this, we'll see a variety of birds flying high in the sky as they catch the last light of the day. By the end, you'll surely understand why many Arabic poems refer to this location as the Mirror of the Sun. It's not for nothing! In addition, if we have sufficient time, if you'd like, we'll be able to enjoy a short boat ride.
After 7 hours together, we'll bring this activity to an end back at the starting point.
