Uyuni Salt Flat Private Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel, the bus station or the airport at 10 am to begin our private excursion to the Uyuni Salt Flat.

On the way to the famous salt flat, we'll stop at some interesting places, such as the train cemetery, an abandoned 19th-century railway complex. We'll also stop at the town of Colchani, famous for its salt factories.

Once we arrive at this magnificent salt flat, the largest salt desert in the world, in fact, we'll have the chance to admire a landscape that is nothing less than otherworldly. During the rainy season, the flat is covered with water, transforming the ground into a spectacular mirror with a picture-perfect reflection of the sky.

We'll walk among the mounds of salt and the geometric figures that are created on the surface of the salt flat, as well as see the so-called "eyes of the salt flat," small pools of underground water. During the tour, we'll also have the opportunity to visit the famous Playa Blanca salt hotel.

After a break for a picnic lunch, we'll visit Isla Incahuasi, a rocky patch of land and former island located in the heart of the Uyuni Salt Flat. There we'll find hundreds of cacti, which complete a truly magical landscape - some of them reach more than 12 meters high!

For the icing on the cake, we'll enjoy watching a beautiful sunset as dusk falls on the salt flat - you won't believe your eyes!

We'll conclude the private excursion by taking you back to the starting point, where we'll arrive at 7 pm.

Uyuni Salt Flat + Tunupa Volcano (11 hours)

If you'd like to add to the experience, you can include a visit to the Tunupa Volcano. In this case, the excursion will start at 8 am. After seeing Isla Incahuasi, we'll head to the northern part of the salt flat to access the Tunupa volcano viewpoint, located at 5,432 meters above sea level.

We'll also enter a cave located at the foot of the volcano to see the mummies of Coqueza, the remains of a family that have been preserved for over 500 years. Finally, we'll enter the sub-aquatic cave of Chiquini and, at the exit, we'll admire the sunset in this beautiful landscape.

Excursion from Colchani

If you are staying in Colchani, it is also possible to be picked up there. Please note that in this case, we will not visit the train cemetery.
