Pulacayo & Tomave Trip
Pulacayo Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Uyuni at the indicated time and head to Pulacayo, located just 6 miles (9.6 km) from Uyuni.
This small town still preserves the old iron locomotives that look like something out of a western movie and were used to transport the silver extracted from the mines. Have you heard of the bank robber Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? During the tour, we'll hear about their legendary train robberies and the history that links them to this place.
As we stroll through this open-air train museum, we'll see how time has stood still and learn about the importance of Pulacayo's mining wealth, which represented a great economic development for the whole country in the early 20th century.
After exploring Pulacayo, we'll set off for Tomave, a town noted for its monumental colonial church and rugged landscapes. Then, we'll continue to the hot springs of Tomave amidst the characteristic Altiplano environment of central Bolivia.
Our next stop? The Warmy Kasilla green lagoon and the Orqo Kasilla light blue lagoon. These natural sites are located at almost 5,000 metres (16,404 ft) above sea level, making for a memorable visit!
After 10 or 11 hours of touring Pulacayo, we'll return to Uyuni and drop you off at your hotel.
