In this whale watching activity in the Marino Ballena National Park, we'll sail along the coast of Uvita, one of the best places in Costa Rica to spot dolphins and whales.
Whale Watching in Marino Ballena National Park
After meeting at 8:30 am at the entrance of the Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita, we'll walk to a nearby dock to set off on an unforgettable cruise along the western coast of Costa Rica.
As we sail along this area of the Pacific, we'll admire different specimens of whales and dolphins swimming in its waters. In addition to spotting these cetaceans, we'll also see different kinds of sea turtles that live in this rich ecosystem.
We'll continue our journey sailing to Isla Ballena. Stopping on the shores of this small uninhabited islet, you'll have 45 minutes to snorkel and take a refreshing swim in the open sea.
Then, we'll return to the boat and continue sailing toward the sea caves of Ventana Beach. From the boat, you'll be able to take pictures of these caves, which stand out for their incredible stone arches eroded by the sea.
Finally, at 12 pm, we'll conclude the boat ride through the Marino Ballena National Park by returning to the starting point.
Whale & dolphin watching
The coast of Uvita is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see whales, dolphins and other cetaceans. However, animals are unpredictable. The sighting of a greater or lesser number of specimens will depend on various factors such as the weather at the time or the reproduction and breeding seasons of the different species.
