At the designated time, we'll meet on Vredenburgkad, number 11 and, once we're all here, we'll begin this exciting food tour of Utrecht. Ready to get to know what delicacies the Netherlands has in store? Let's go!
Firstly, we'll head to the market, where we'll try a Dutch wafer biscuit called a stroopwafel. We'll see how they are made, beginning as a ball of dough until it becomes this tasty treat. Afterwards, we'll move on to something a little more salty by trying some gouda cheese.
We'll leave the market and make our way to the city centre to immerse ourselves in a world of Dutch snacks. Here, you'll get to choose what you taste. Fair warning, everything is delicious!
Next, we'll try a tompouce, a typical pastry. Did you know that how to eat it is one of the most debated things about this dish? Though we're likely to get it wrong, the best thing is to do it your own way.
Full? Well, make sure you leave some space, because we've got 2 tastings left to end this tour on a high note: a bitterballen, the Netherlands's most popular meat-based snack, and poffertjes, freshly made small pancakes.
