Tour Details

Have you reached the "end of the world" and looking to learn about its history? In this case, we'll meet at the designated time at number 55, Calle Godoy, from where we'll begin this free walking tour of Ushuaia, a charming city known for being the southernmost destination on earth. Let's go!

We'll begin our tour by making our way towards the Ushuaia dock, which features beautiful scenic views of the Beagle Channel, snowy mountains, and the cruise ships that sail along Patagonia. Here, while we wander along the seafront promenade, we'll tell you the story of Saint Christopher, a boat that was stranded in the dock for over 65 years. How did it get there? What were its final days like on the shores of the Tierra del Fuego peninsula? We'll tell you all about it!

We'll then stop in front of the giant Ushuaia letters. This is, without a doubt, the ideal spot to take some photos and learn how the city became known as the world's most southern spot. Next, we'll walk towards Ushuaia's cemetery, and, at its entrance, we'll discuss its links to the first settlers. Did you know that in the past, Ushuaia had a penal colony for Argentina's most dangerous prisoners?

After finding out about this interesting history, we'll wander down Calle San Martín, the city's shopping district. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, and cafés, we'll tell you about the famous Route of the King Crab, a delicacy that has put Ushuaia on the global culinary map. Our final stop will be at the doors of Ushuaia Prison, where we'll learn about its fascinating past.

Lastly, we'll say our goodbyes at this final spot after a total of 1.5 hours. See you next time!
