Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia on board an off-roading vehicle that will take us to discover the scenery and corners of Tierra del Fuego along winding roads. Time to go!

Our trip will start with a brief introduction to the history of the electronics industry of the 70s as we pass the area that houses the remains of this commercial activity from that time. Afterward, we'll cross the Olivia River and board the stunning mountain with the same name, where the landscapes will open up before our eyes. What a great way to start!

Next, we'll visit the Carbajal Valley viewpoint, adorned with the spectacular glaciers and majestic peaks that surround it. We'll drive in search of the Paso Garibaldi, a lookout located in a privileged area where you'll see the scenery of the Lago Escondido and Lago Fagnano in all their grandeur.

Ready for the most exciting stretch on board this off-roading vehicle? We'll drive on mountain roads in the forest that will take us to the shores of the Lago Escondido and the abandoned Petrel Inn. Once we arrive, you'll have free time to relax, take pictures, and enjoy a mate, tea, or coffee with some sweets.

Our route will continue toward the town of Tolhuin, located on the shores of Lago Fagnano, where we'll also see the lookout of the Valdez Valley. The moment we get to Tolhuin, you'll be captivated by its enchanting architecture and ambiance. Here, you'll have free time to explore its alleys at your own pace. Don't forget to visit their popular bakery!

Afterward, we'll set off toward the Estancia Pirinaica, a country house where you'll dive into the rural life of Tierra Fuego before we reach the coast in Cape San Pablo. We'll continue our journey and reach this site, where you'll admire Lobos Island.

Hungry? We're sure you are! We'll have lunch at the restaurant La Casa del Pescador. Here, you'll enjoy a tasty menu including: smoked sea bass empanadas, salmon, meat, or vegetables as a starter; as a main dish, you can choose between pizza-style sea bass with Valencian rice or purée, chorizo with fried mashed potatoes, or a vegetarian dish of stuffed zucchini with rice and purée. Of course, you'll have a house dessert and a beverage. Enjoy!

After lunch, we'll lace our shoes up for a hike to Faro San Pablo and see the sunken ship of Desdémona. How did it get there and why has it been abandoned since the 1940s? It'll be the perfect place to wrap up our day trip!

Finally, we'll begin our journey back to Ushuaia and say our goodbyes at your hotel after 12 hours.
