Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
The term pachamanca comes from the Quechua language, meaning 'earth pot.' With this in mind, it's easy to guess how this traditional Peruvian dish will be cooked in this demonstration.
We'll meet at the Tunupa Sacred Valley restaurant in Urubamba at 12 pm, where the experts will be waiting to show us how to prepare an authentic Peruvian pachamanca. The main ingredients of this recipe are tubers and meat, to which we'll add a series of sauces and spices made with local products to give the dish a personal touch.
All of these elements will be put into a pot, which will be cooked in the most traditional style, on heated stones. While it cooks, we'll also offer you a refreshing pisco sour to whet your appetite.
Once the stew is ready, we'll taste it for ourselves, accompanied by salads. We'll share the pot of pachamanca, following this ancestral rite of the Andean world.
The activity will conclude at 2 pm.
