Description
We'll pick you up at your hotel bright and early and head to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we'll board the train for Aguas Calientes. The adventure begins!
The train trip itself is a highlight of the journey - we'll travel along one of the most spectacular railways in the world. We'll cross overwhelmingly beautiful Andean landscapes, which we'll get great views of thanks to the glass roof of the train. After an hour and a half, we'll arrive in Aguas Calientes.
Once there, we'll hop on a bus which will take us to the top of the mountain, where the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu is located. Get your cameras ready! We'll begin a 2.5-hour guided tour during which our knowledgeable guide will share stories, legends, and secrets about this incredible place.
We'll stroll through the narrow passageways and enter places like the majestic House of the Guardian, which will give us an idea of the grandeur of the Incan civilization.
After the guided tour, we'll head back to Aguas Calientes. Before returning to the train, you'll have five hours of free time to have lunch and explore this charming Andean village on your own. Then, we'll meet up again at the train station and begin the journey back to Ollantaytambo.
The excursion will come to an end back at your hotel, where we'll arrive between 6 and 7 pm.
