Central Mongolia 3 Day Tour Package

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar - Semi Gobi Desert - Karakorum

At 8 am on the first day of the tour, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ulaanbaatar and begin our adventure into central Mongolia. Our first stop will be in the Semi Gobi Desert, where you'll be welcomed by a local nomadic family who will introduce you to their traditional way of life. We'll get to experience milking, feeding and herding their livestock - camels, horses, goats and sheep! You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a camel ride over the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dune while admiring the mountainous surroundings.

After a well-earned lunch break, we'll continue onwards to Kharkhorin, the city that is the location of the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire, Karakorum. We'll check in at our accommodation for the night, a traditional ger camp, where we'll enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner before relaxing after an unforgettable day.

Day 2: Erdene Zuu Monastery - Ugii Lake

Having built up our energy with a hearty breakfast, we'll delve into the history of the former Mongolian capital visiting the National History Museum of 13th Century Mongolia and the 16th century Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Mongolia. We'll embark on a short hiking trail to get a panoramic view over the city and the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We'll then drive over to Ogii Nur, enjoying lunch on the way before getting to ride a horse alongside the beautiful lake (during the winter when horse riding isn't possible, we'll go ice fishing instead). After making the most of our time at Ogii Lake, we'll head to the ger camp where we'll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Khustai National Park - Ulaanbaatar

On the final day of our tour of central Mongolia, we'll have breakfast and then set off on a guided tour of Karakorum, the ancient capital. We'll then make our way to Khustai National Park, a protected area home to wild Prezewalski horses. Learn all about these majestic animals while enjoying lunch in the national park, before we make the journey back to Ulaanbaatar. You'll be dropped back off at your hotel between 3 pm and 4 pm.
