Guided Tour of Ubatuba
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Ubatuba Tourism Office. From here, we'll begin our guided tour of Ubatuba by strolling through the city's streets. As we walk this 2-kilometre route (1.24-mile), we'll tell you all about the town's curiosities and history, as well as admire the surrounding natural beauty. Let's go!
Firstly, we'll head over to the emblematic Praça Trópico de Capricórnio, located between the Itaguá and Cruzeiro beaches. The views of the coast from this spot are absolutely captivating, and around the area, we'll find bars and restaurants typical of the caiçara culture. Next, we'll make our way to the Artisanal Fair and have a 30-minute stop to see the great variety of handicrafts from the local culture.
Our next stop will be Praça da Bandeira, where we'll have fabulous scenic views of Cruzeiro Beach. Here, we'll discuss the history of an important figure in the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil, the author of the first Tupí-Guaraní grammar book. We'll even pass by his statue. Do you know who it is? We'll tell you all about him on this tour!
Afterwards, we'll visit the Hito de la Paz, a tribute to the struggle of people from all five continents for peace and a better world. Walking along the seafront promenade, we'll pass the Barra Lighthouse, located at the end of Iperoig Avenue, next to the Félix Guisard Bridge.
From here, we'll see a historical mansion from the golden age of coffee, the Sobradão do Porto, built in 1846 by a rich merchant. We'll reveal the link between him and the arrival of the royal family in 1808. Before finishing our tour, we'll also see the Zero Point in the Praça da Exaltação de Santa Cruz, and the Church Matriz de Ubatuba.
Then, after a total of 3 hours immersed in Brazil's history, we'll say our goodbyes at the starting point. See you next time!
