Sumidero Canyon & Cristo de Chiapas Viewpoints + Zoomat Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Tuxtla Gutierrez at 9 am, we'll head to the famous Sumidero Canyon.
Upon arrival, we'll embark on a beautiful route around the viewpoints of this great ecological reserve. We'll admire the views from El Roblar, La Coyota, La Atalaya, Tepehuaje, La Ceiba and Los Chiapa. From the heights, we'll see the curve of the Grijalva River and spot native plant and wildlife species such as ceibas, ocotes, pines and oaks. Keep your eyes peeled for the occasional spider monkey jumping betweem the branches of the trees too!
After visiting the Sumidero Canyon National Park, we'll head towards the Miguel Álvarez del Toro Zoo, popularly known as Zoomat. Here we'll see aviaries with exotic birds, serpentariums, vivariums and a nocturnal exhibit with bats and armadillos.
You'll then have an hour of free time to get lunch before we travel to Cristo de Chiapas. This colossal concrete and stainless steel cross monument has become a symbol of the state of Chiapas. The statue is also an incredible viewpoint for views of Tuxtla Gutiérrez in all its splendour.
Finally, we'll go back down to the city and drop you off at your hotel around 6 pm.
