Palazzo Madama Guided Tour
Tour Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at Piazza Castello, right in front of the Palazzo Madama. Once we are together, we'll enter this majestic World Heritage building to begin our immersion into the history of Turin by strolling along its streets.
The guided tour will take us first to the ancient Roman Gate, visible under a glass floor, allowing us to admire archaeological remains over 2000 years old. Next, we'll enter the medieval structure of the castle, discovering its impressive walls, arches and passages that tell centuries of history.
Once inside the palace, we'll explore its valuable art collection. Paintings, sculptures, porcelain and fabrics are distributed throughout the rooms, among them the spectacular Portrait of a Man by Messina, one of the great jewels of the museum.
We'll continue our tour by climbing 30 metres (98 ft) up through the building. From the ancient moat, now converted into a charming garden, to the tower, where we'll enjoy a privileged view of Turin, its hills and the surrounding mountains.
The visit will end with a visit to the impressive monumental staircase designed by Filippo Juvarra in the 18th century, a true masterpiece of Baroque architecture!
After a 1.5 to 2-hour tour, we'll end our guided tour of Palazzo Madama.
