On this day trip to Lake Tota, we'll visit the inland sea of Boyaca to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking Andean scenery and explore the nearby villages.
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunja to kick off our adventure to Lake Tota, affectionately known as the inland sea of Boyac.
Halfway through this journey, we'll pause for a short time in the charming town of Paipa to savor Colombian coffee paired with cheese and a traditional bread roll known as the almojábana. Following this, we'll continue our journey to Aquitania, where we'll embark on a tranquil boat ride on Lake Tota, Colombia's largest lake.
During our trip, we'll visit San Pedro Island, where we'll relish its stunning scenery. Returning to the boat, we'll cruise back to Aquitania. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch featuring an appetizer, a main course of freshly caught lake trout, and a refreshing beverage.
Afterward, we'll visit the Customs Museum of Aquitania to view different folkloric exhibitions and tour the key villages surrounding Lake Tota. Our first stop will be in Iza, where we'll sample its signature dessert.
Then, we'll continue the route to Cuitiva and Tibasosa. At this final village, we'll enjoy a delicious feijoa sabajón. This traditional liqueur is very popular within the region, with its sweet and creamy taste.
From Tibasosa, we'll return back to your hotel in Tunja, about 10 hours after pickup.
