Itinerary
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Tunja at the scheduled time and begin discovering the renowned religious heritage that the capital of Boyaca has to offer.
The first stop will take place at Bolívar Square, where you'll visit Santiago Cathedral. On the inside of the cathedral, whose construction began in the 2nd half of the 16th century, you'll see how Elizabethan, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles, come together perfectly.
You'll continue your tour of Tunja's churches in the Santo Domingo convent, which is known for its numerous works of sacred art, pertaining to the colonial age. After viewing the most well-known pieces, you'll then be brought to visit San Ignacio and Santa Barbara churches, both made famous for the devoutness of the locals who attend church there.
The following stop will be at the San Laureano Chapel, 1 of only 14 Hispanic churches in Tunja. From there, you'll be brought to the church of Santa Clara to learn about the history of the first female convent in Colombia. After, you'll continue on to the Nuestra Señora de Milagro Sanctuary.
