On this tour through the villages of Boyaca, we'll combine nature and history as we traverse through the main interior region of Colombia!
Visit Inland Colombia
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunja and kick off our unforgettable tour through the inland region of Boyaca. This Andean region stands out mainly for its picturesque villages, which we'll admire throughout the day.
Our first stop of the day is in Chivata, where we'll visit the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Parish, a building declared a National Heritage Site of Colombia. Then we'll make our way over to Toca, where, in the main square, we can see the twin temples of the Divino Salvador Parish.
After gaining a deeper insight into its storied past, we'll continue along our route and arrive at the village of Paipa and the Vargas reservoir. From here, we'll head to Duitama, a beautiful village where we'll visit Pueblito Boyacense. Here, in this small village, we'll admire the beautiful traditional architecture of the region.
In this picturesque village, we'll enjoy a traditional Boyaca meal, including an appetizer, a choice of meat or fish for the main course, and a refreshing beverage. Following our meal, our journey will continue as we explore the charming colonial town of Tibasosa, a colonial-style gem in this region.
Nearby, we'll come to the last village of the tour, Nobsa, a typical Boyaca town that stands out for its artisanal handicrafts made from sheep's wool. After visiting several stands and booths offering artisanal goods, we'll head back to your hotel in Tunja about 10 hours after pickup.
