Complete Trujillo Tour with Tickets
After picking you up at your hotel at 9 am, we'll head over to the colonial area of Trujillo. In this part of the Peruvian city, we'll see the Trujillo Wall, built to defend the city against the attacks of pirates during the gold rush. We'll also pass by the Plazuela Recreo, where the old Caja de Agua is located, which today continues to supply drinking water to nearby homes.
Next, we'll visit the Museum of Archaeology of Trujillo, which exhibits ceramics, gold and silver work, textiles, and feather art. Afterwards, we'll go to the Huaca del Dragon, a massive temple built in adobe and filled with fascinating secrets.
From there we'll take you to Huanchaco, one of the best beaches in Trujillo for surfing. Here we'll see how the fishermen still maintain their ancient traditions and continue to build their caballitos de totora, unique boats made from the leaves and stems of plants.
By now we'll have built up an appetite! We'll stop at a local restaurant and enjoy a traditional-style lunch with a starter, main course, and dessert. Yum!
After eating, the tour will take us back in time to the days of the Chimu. We'll visit Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the Americas and the second largest in the world. It'll be clear why this place is considered a World Heritage Site.
The complete tour of Trujillo will come to an end back at your hotel at 5 pm.
