Sun + Moon Pyramids, Huanchaco & Chan Chan Tour
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo, and from there we'll head towards the archaeological site of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, Huanchaco and the citadel of Chan Chan. Let's go!
Firstly, we'll make a stop at the Cerro Blanco handcraft workshop, located in the countryside of Moche. Here, we'll see a demonstration of how ceramics are made.
After this experience, we'll head to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon archaeological site. By these ancient Huacan remains, we'll learn what society was like in the Trujillo Valley during the Moche Precolombian era.
We'll spend about an hour here, before moving on and stopping at the town of Moche, where you can get lunch at your own expense and try some local cuisine. Then, we'll visit the ancient citadel of Chan Chan, built by the Chimor people. Today, this huge area is a World Heritage Site, containing the largest adobe city in the Americas. During our tour of this architectural gem, we'll explore Nik An Palace.
To top off our day trip, we'll give you some free time at the beach in Huanchacho, a picturesque seaside town. You'll love it.
Finally, we'll head to the starting point after approximately 8 hours of activity.
