Moche Cultural Tour
Moche Cultural Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Trujillo to begin this tour of the Moche region, located in northwestern Peru.
The Mochica people lived in these lands between the 2nd and 5th centuries, leaving traces of their culture along the Moche River valley. First, we'll visit the Museum of the Huaca de Moche, where we'll discover all the secrets of these legendary constructions.
We'll continue with a visit to the Huaca del Sol y de la Luna Archaeological Complex, the ancient capital of the Mochica civilization. Here we'll observe what are called huacas, stepped pyramids that served as tombs. As we walk around the sanctuary, we'll discover the secrets hidden within its walls, decorated with ritual and war scenes.
The next stop will be in the town of Moche, which is part of the "Moche Route", a tourist trail that follows in the footsteps of this ancient culture. Here, we'll leave you free time to have lunch on your own.
After lunch, we'll visit the Itinerant Museum and the murals of the town. We'll end the tour by returning to Trujillo, arriving at your hotel after around 7.5 hours together.
Museum Closures
Please keep in mind that the Huaca de Moche Museum remains closed on Mondays. The museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm.
