Marinera Show with Peruvian Paso Horses
Marinera Show with Peruvian Paso Horses
At 2 pm, we'll meet in the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo and et off for the Casa Campo Alcor, an institute dedicated to the raising and caring of these Peruvian horses.
Peruvian Paso horses are characterised by their particular way of walking sideways, which is called the llano step. We'll have the chance to see a show of these horses led by their chalanes, which is how Paso horse riders are known, and admire the majesty and elegance of their trot.
Did you know that this folkloric dance has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation. The marinera dance with Peruvian Paso horses is one of the biggest tourist attractions in both Trujillo and in this part of the country. The dance is performed in pairs and accompanied by music as the dancers and riders dressed in typical costumes display their elegance and grace.
After the show, which has a duration of between 30 and 45 minutes, we'll return to Trujillo. We'll say our goodbyes at 4 pm back at the starting point.
