Due to weather conditions the event was cancelled but the team offered me two events to replace it. I took a trip to the Tromso fjords and the experience was wonderful. Everything was perfect and I was happy.

Explore the icy landscapes of the outskirts of Tromsø by snowshoeing across the frozen wilderness, a fun form of hiking widespread in the Nordic countries.

Snowshoe Hike Details

The tour will begin at the designated time at the entrance to the Scandic Ishavshotel in Tromsø. Once we're all together, we'll get dressed in special thermal clothing (available on request) that will protect us from the cold, strap on our snowshoes, and pick out ski poles best suited for our height.

Once all dressed and equipped, we'll set off for a 3-hour hike through the arctic wilderness with our snowshoes. During the tour, the guide will lead us on the best trails in the area.

We'll admire the icy landscapes while the guide explains some interesting fun facts about this part of Norway. In addition, we'll stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint.

Finally, we'll finish the 5-hour tour at the starting point, where we'll change back into our normal clothes and warm up in front of a blazing fire.

Additional Info

Please be aware that during October and November, there may be no snow, or the existing snow may not be sufficient for snowshoeing. In such cases, we will take a hiking route in the area, but without using snowshoes.

Una actividad muy recomendable cuando está todo nevado, el tiempo es muy cambiante y podría ser incómodo, pero le da ese toque que necesita una ruta así. Los guías son estupendos, muy atentos a todos. No hay que estar en excelente forma física, pero son necesarios unos mínimos, en nuestro caso fueron 4,6km, 250m de desnivel y las raquetas no es un calzado cómodo, desgasta mucho. A highly recommended activity when everything is covered in snow, the weather is very changeable and it could be uncomfortable, but it gives it that touch that a route like this needs. The guides are great, very attentive to everyone. You don't have to be in excellent physical shape, but a minimum is necessary, in our case it was 4.6km, 250m of elevation and the snowshoes are not comfortable footwear, they wear you out a lot.
