Trinidad Tour + Mercado Campesino
Trinidad Tour + Mercado Campesino
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and set off on our tour of Trinidad, the department of Beni's capital.
We'll visit some of the favourite haunts of this Bolivian city's residents, such as the Plaza Central, the outside of the colonial cathedral, and the Plaza de las Banderas. While we explore these spots, we'll learn about the history of the municipality, which was founded in one of the missions that the Jesuits established in the Moxos region. We'll also review its pre-Hispanic, colonial, and republican history.
Next, we'll head to the San Juan stream, which flows through Trinidad. When we get to its banks, we'll spot lizards and capybaras. The latter is the largest rodent in the world, with some capybaras weighing more than 132 pounds (60 kilograms)!
The tour will then take us to the Mercado Campesino, where we'll learn about the region's arts and crafts-based traditions. At the market, you'll see local handicrafts, such as handbags and hats, as well as unique elixirs and medicines made from Amazonian products.
You'll have some time to explore the market and do some shopping before being driven back to your hotel. Our arrival is scheduled for 1 hour 30 minutes after pickup.
