Once at our destination, we'll begin a guided tour of the interior of this incredible bastion. On this tour, we'll explore its halls and towers and learn about its architectural details.
Castel del Monte is an octagonal fortress built by Federick II, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, in the 13 century. Its form, symbolism and architecture make it a jewel of medieval art that was recognised as a World Heritage Site in 1996.
Did you know that it's also one of the best-preserved castles in southern Italy? You won't be able to resist taking thousands of photos, as the views it offers of the Apulia region are truly spectacular.
After enjoying this visit to such an iconic place, we'll return to the meeting point in Trani, where we'll arrive after a total of 3 hours.
