After picking you up at your hotel in Tozeur at the designated time, we'll head north towards the El Hamma palm grove and along the banks of the Shatt al Gharsah salt lake.
Our first stop will be the Chebika oasis. This lush orchard in the middle of the desert is an enchanting natural paradise with a gorge, surrounded by several waterfalls and, above all, a mountain spring. The Romans discovered these water resources here, known as Ad Speculum.
Nowadays, there is still a small population of people living in the modern village of Chebika. We'll visit this place and admire its rocky terrain, home of many prehistoric fossils. From Chebika we'll continue our excursion to the oasis of Tamerza, where you'll be impressed by its green landscapes and its beautiful natural springs. This small Eden contrasts with the ochre and brown tones of the surrounding desert.
Our last stop will be the small oasis of Midès, located by the Algerian border. This natural paradise is home to tasty dates and juicy oranges. During our visit here, we'll also see the canyons and meanders that were used to protect this area in Roman times. The imperial remains were used by the inhabitants of the village of Midès to build their houses, which we'll see located in the vicinity of the oasis.
After the visit to Midès, we'll conclude the excursion and return to your hotel in Tozeur after a total of 4 hours.
