Torun Private Walking Tour
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet near the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in the centre of Old Town Torun. Are you ready to explore one of the oldest cities in Poland and learn about its incredible history? On this tour, we'll walk the streets of a medieval gothic town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Poland.
Starting in the main square, we'll visit the Gothic Town Hall, which is home to a large collection of sculptures, paintings and stained glass. Here, you have the option to climb the tower and get an amazing view of Torun and the Vistula River.
Then, we'll head to the beautifully decorated Hansa merchants' mansions, before visiting various churches, such as the Holy Spirit’s Church and Saint Mary’s Church, dating back to the 14th and 16th centuries. Afterwards, we'll explore Saint John’s Cathedral. Built in the 13th century, this ancient building has witnessed many important Christian celebrations, such as the baptism of Nicolaus Copernicus.
We'll continue our tour by passing the city's defensive walls and several towers like Sailor’s Gate or Bridge Gate. Then, we'll reach the castle ruins of the Teutonic Knights, one of the oldest structures of this kind, built in the 13th century.
After a 3-hour tour, we'll say our goodbyes at the initial meeting point.
