Tortuguero National Park Canoeing Tour
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the main pier in Tortuguero to begin this canoeing tour around the Tortuguero National Park. Once there, we'll put on our lifejackets, cop in our canoes and hear some instructions from the guide before we get on our way. Let's go!
Did you know that this is the most popular and best-conserved national park in all of Costa Rica? You'll be stunned by the amount of rules the locals have regarding this natural spot.
Along the first part of the canals down which we'll sail, we'll see some crocodiles on the banks. You'd think they were statues they sit so still! We'll continue paddling and the channels will begin to become narrower and narrower.
You'll notice the guide carefully looking through the vegetation, the water and high up in the trees. Keep your eyes wide open! We'll see sloths, small bats that blend in with the tree trunks, tiny colourful frogs, monkeys and a huge number of birds of many different kinds.
On our way back, we'll paddle along the opposite side of the river and have the chance to keep admiring more animals and exotic types of native flora in the rainforest.
We'll return to the initial meeting point after around 2.5 hours together.
