Cerro Tortuguero Hike
Hike Details
After meeting up on the main pier in Tortuguero, we'll make our way to our starting point: the trail that goes up this extinct volcano, now known for its strategic viewpoint with views of the canals in the Tortuguero National Park. You'll have the best views of this natural coastal enclave!
We'll begin our hike by walking through dense jungle and crossing a network of wooden stairs that lead to the Cerro Tortuguero viewpoint. While we enjoy the humidity that is so characteristic of the Costa Rican forests, we'll tell you all about this ancient volcano that looms over the national park's flatlands.
Once we've arrived at the summit, we'll find the observation deck and you'll be blown away by the scenic views of the canals surrounding the tropical forest, the lagoons, and the Caribbean Sea on the horizon. You'll be awestruck as you gaze at the dense vegetation from above!
After enjoying this scenery and taking plenty of photos, we'll begin our return journey which will take us to the village of San Francisco de Tortuguero. After arriving, we'll go on a brief tour of this small town, exploring its narrow streets and admiring the appealing daily life. Get ready to be charmed!
Lastly, we'll say our goodbyes at our initial meeting point after a total of 2.5 hours. See you next time!
