Daytime Shows at Puy du Fou Spain
In each of the period villages, you can enjoy 30-minute daytime shows that recreate the customs, battles and exploits of past centuries. The four main shows are:
- Cetrería de reyes (Falconry of kings): During the period of the Caliphate of Cordoba, Abderramán III and Count Fernán González agree to a truce, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of peaceful combat by air. Falcons, cranes, owls, eagles and Castilian kites measure their strength by flying over the heads of the audience. Get ready for a truly unique aerial dance!
- A pluma y espada (By pen and sword): In the middle of the Spanish Golden Age, a comedy theatre puts on its finery for the premiere of Fuenteovejuna, a play devised by the chief magistrate of Toledo, but all is not what it seems... Will Lope de Vega be able to prove that his play has been stolen? What's the true story behind this fraud?
- El último cantar (The final canto): Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, better known as El Cid Campeador, stars in this show. You'll be transported back to the 11th century as you discover the legend of this honourable Castilian soldier.
- Allende la mar Océana (Across the Ocean Sea): This completely immersive show, which has continuous set changes, will take you through one of the most fascinating chapters of Spanish history: The discovery of the Americas. You'll attend the meetings between Columbus and Queen Isabella I, see the preparations for the caravel Santa Maria in the Port of Palos and witness the moment Columbus spotted land ahead.
- El misterio de Sorbaces (The mystery of Sorbaces): Hidden among the remains of the Basilica of Santa María de Sorbaces is the largest Visigothic treasure known to date. Crowns of fine gold, pearls, sapphires... Undoubtedly jewels of great value. But what other mysteries does Sorbaces hide? Some say there is a divine miracle involved.
- De tal palo (Like father, like son): If there is a legacy that has left its mark in Spain, it's that of the Julián Gutiérrez family. Their amazing feats are proof. From Covadonga to Granada, passing through Navas de Tolosa, this legendary lineage will show you what they are made of.
- El bodegón del capitán (The captain's tavern): The veteran Captain Juan de Amberes recalls his campaigns in the Flanders Thirds seated at the table of his tavern in Villanueva del Corral. He has exchanged swords for casseroles, and entertains his diners with his military anecdotes of yesteryear. But the valiant conqueror has another side that not everyone knows.
As you stroll through the different areas of Puy du Fou, you'll also come across shorter performances, lasting between 5 and 15 minutes, such as El Pregón de la Puebla (The Proclamation of La Puebla) or El Vagar de los siglos (The Wandering of the Centuries).
