Nikko Day Trip
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet you at the designated exit of Ginza Station. From there, we’ll leave the bustling city of Tokyo behind and set off on a journey to the serene beauty of Nikko. Let’s go!
After a scenic 2.5-hour bus ride, we’ll arrive in Nikko, where you’ll have about an hour of free time to explore at your own pace. We recommend visiting the iconic Shinkyo Bridge, a sacred site whose vibrant red hue beautifully contrasts with the lush greenery surrounding it.
Our next stop is the historic Sannai area, where we’ll explore the Toshogu Shrine, a magnificent Shinto temple that houses the tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa clan. As we wander through the intricate architecture, we’ll delve into the fascinating history of this influential figure and the cultural significance of the shrine.
We’ll also learn about the unique details of Nikko’s temples, from their exquisite animal motifs—such as monkeys, cats, and dragons—to the stories they represent. Afterward, we’ll continue to the breathtaking Kegon Waterfall, a natural wonder that promises to leave you in awe.
Near the waterfall, you’ll have about an hour of free time to enjoy lunch, a perfect chance to savor authentic Japanese cuisine. Recharged and refreshed, we’ll visit Lake Chuzenji, a serene spot on the outskirts of Nikko offering spectacular views and a great photo opportunity.
After spending about an hour soaking in the tranquil beauty of the lake, we’ll wrap up this enriching 11-hour tour with a return trip to Tokyo, arriving back at the meeting point.
