Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in the Suica Penguin Square and board a train that will take us to Kamakura. Get ready to discover the charms of this city!
The first stop will be at the Buddhist temple of Hase-Dera. We'll make a short stop to admire the exterior of this shrine, famous for its more than 50,000 small sculptures. Feel an atmosphere of calm as you stroll through its caves, Buddhist halls and its panoramic terrace which offers a spectacular view of the bay.
Next, we'll take you to visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, the second-largest Buddha sculpture in Japan, measuring over 42 ft (13 metres) and weighing 93 tons!
Afterwards, we'll go to the Tsurugaoka Hachiman temple-gū, the most important Shinto sanctuary in Kamakura. We'll leave you 40 minutes to explore the outside of this 11th-century building and stroll through its gardens full of cherry trees.
Finally, after 5 hours of exploring, we'll bid you farewell back at the meeting point and you can either return with your free train ticket to Tokyo or continue to enjoy the town at your leisure.
