Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Rruga e Dibrës, number 10, to leave Tirana behind to start this unforgettable day trip to Vlorë and Apollonia, two of the most historical places in Albania.
During the journey, we'll provide an introduction to the sites we'll visit. After a 2-hour drive, we'll reach our first destination: Apollonia, the largest archeological site in the country.
Here, we'll explore the ancient ruins, including the well-conserved theatre and the Temple of Artemis, as you learn about the role the city played during the Illyrian and Roman periods. You'll also see the museum, located within the archeological site, where you can admire many archeological artifacts, such as statues, coins, and ceramics.
Afterward, we'll set off to Vlorë. Before exploring its streets, we'll sit down at a restaurant next to the sea for a traditional Albanian lunch. The menu includes seasonal salad, soup, moussaka, fish stew with vegetables, dessert, and water. Enjoy!
After lunch, it'll be time to explore the city and discover the most iconic spots in Vlorë, like the Monument of Independence in Flag's Square, where Albania declared its independence in 1912. From here, we'll stroll along the port area, where you'll have around 1.5 hours to enjoy the beach and buy a typical souvenir.
Finally, we'll regroup and begin our journey back to the starting point, where we'll arrive after a total of 11.5 hours.
