Laguna de los Milagros Farm Visit
Laguna de los Milagros Farm Visit
After picking you up at your hotel, we'll leave the city of Tingo Maria behind and enter the landscapes of the heart of Peru. We'll discover a farm located next to the Laguna de los Milagros!
After a 15-mile (25-kilometer )road trip, we'll arrive at a hut to welcome you. Next, we'll see the chicken coop, where we can interact with the hens - you'll be delighted to discover many interesting facts about these friendly birds!
Afterward, we'll visit the plantations of the farm, which will be of cocoa, coffee, fruits, or coca, depending on the season. While we walk through the crops, we'll show you the tools used by the farmers to carry out their daily tasks.
What's more, we'll also learn part of the history of the Alto Huallaga and Aucayacu jungle lands. This area was violently punished during the 80s and 90s by both terrorist groups and government actions. Today, its inhabitants are engaged in small-scale agriculture and local commerce.
On the way back to the lodge, we'll share a delicious regional lunch consisting of a dish and a drink.
After seven hours, we'll end this visit back at your hotel in Tingo Maria.
