Discover the customs and beliefs of a traditional village in northern Argentina on our day trip to the Hornaditas Community. You'll also visit the Quebrada de Sapagua during this day in the countryside.
Quebrada de Sapagua & Hornaditas Community Day Trip
Between 8:30 and 9 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tilcara and set off northbound towards the Quebrada de Sapagua, which is just a 40-minute drive away.
When we get there, we'll go on a 1-hour hike through the beautiful surroundings of this mountain range while observing its famous cave paintings. As well as explaining the meaning behind these intriguing shapes, we'll cast our minds back to the Inca period and discuss the history of this area.
After our hike, we'll hop back on the bus and head to the Hornaditas Community. We'll spend the rest of the day in this small village learning about the ancient customs and culture of its residents. While we're here, we'll see their crops and sacred places and learn how to weave and bake cakes in a traditional way.
In addition, we'll share a delicious lunch of multiple dishes and a drink so we can taste some of the local gastronomy. As we eat, we'll be able to talk more with the families of this North Argentinean village.
Our day trip will finish when we drop you off at your hotel in Tilcara at 6 pm. See you next time!
