Teotihuacan Private Tour

Our private tour is the perfect option if you want to explore Teotihuacan at your leisure and have a guide on hand. There won’t be anybody else in the group apart from your partner, friends or family.

The Teotihuacan archaeological site is a must-see on any trip to Mexico. Pyramids, temples, history and unsolved mysteries are waiting to be discovered. The size and magnificence of this site will leave you lost for words! The name Teotihuacan is said to mean ‘birthplace of the Gods’ because the Aztecs believed that the Gods created the universe at that site. It has become one of the most visited places in Mexico, and as your private guide explains its history, you’ll be sure to understand why.

You’ll be mesmerised by this incredible site! Did you know that historians and archaeologists are still unsure about which civilisation created this impressive city?

Options

When you make your booking, you can choose out of the following options:

1-hour tour

With this option, we’ll walk just under a mile (1.5 km) around the archeaological site. We'll visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and see the incredible Pyramid of the Sun. You'll learn all about and admire these incredible ancient ruins.

2-hour tour

If you want to spend longer exploring Teotihuacan, with this 2-hour tour you'll have plenty of time to see the main attractions, including the Pyramids of the Sun, Moon and the Feathered Serpent. We’ll walk approximately 1.9 miles (3 km).

3.5-hour tour

This is the most complete option and includes transportation to move around the archaeological site of Teotihuacan comfortably and quickly during the tour. We'll kick this tour off by visiting the Citadel and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, where we'll explain how the city was organized during the occupation of the Mexica and the sacrifices they made in honor of the gods.

Afterwards, we'll go to the palace area to see how the nobles lived, before moving on to the pyramids of the Moon and the Sun. After marveling at these majestic constructions, we'll head to our next stop.

Less than a mile away from the Pyramid of the Sun, we’ll then head into a very special cave. Do you know what links this cave to the sun? You’ll find out about this and more throughout your visit.
