Petra & Wadi Rum Tour from Tel Aviv with Flights
Itinerary
Day 1: Tel Aviv - Aqaba - Wadi Rum
At the time indicated, go to Ben Gurion Airport to catch a plane that will take you from Tel Aviv to the southern tip of Israel in just 1 hour. If you were to make this journey by road it would take about 6 hours, but thanks to the flight you'll be able to shorten this time enormously.
You'll land at Ramon International Airport, just outside Eilat, where we'll be waiting for you. We'll board a bus and set off across the border into Jordan, to the port city of Aqaba. There, we'll stroll through charming narrow streets until we reach an Ottoman fortress that offers an incredible panoramic view of the lands of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia - 4 countries all at once!
After free time to eat, we'll arrive at one of the most important moments of the day. We'll change to a 4x4 to explore the Wadi Rum desert.
Did you know that Wadi Rum is a World Heritage Site and that it's known as the Valley of the Moon? We'll discover all the secrets of this inhospitable place and see some of its most curious formations, such as the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Arch of Um Furth.
Finally, the off-road vehicles will take us to the camp where we'll spend the night. Before going to sleep, we'll have the opportunity to watch a magical sunset in the desert and have dinner - the perfect finale!
Day 2: Wadi Rum - Petra - Tel Aviv
Are you ready to join the list of lucky ones who have visited Petra? On our second day of the tour, after breakfast, we'll travel by bus from Wadi Rum to Jordan's most famous archaeological site. If you wish, you can buy a small picnic for breakfast on board for the hour-and-a-half journey.
Once there, we'll walk through the Siq Gorge and the Rose City will open up before our eyes. We'll take a guided tour of Petra to learn about this impressive complex, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
It's well known that Petra was the capital of the Nabataeans, but... who were they? What were their beliefs? Why did they disappear? We'll uncover all their history going back 2300 years in time while we admire the incredible temples and tombs of Petra.
We'll give you 2 hours of free time in Petra, have lunch and end the day back in Eilat. We'll take the flight back to Tel Aviv. We expect to land at Ben Gurion Airport at 10 pm. See you next time!
