Panoramic Tour of Tashkent
Tour of Tashkent
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Tashkent and get on the minibus to start exploring the capital of Uzbekistan. As we head to our first destination, we will talk about the city's glorious past as an important stop on the iconic Silk Road. You will learn how its name means "city of stone".
Our first visit is at the Khast Imam complex, the symbol par excellence of Taskent. It is the most important religious center of the capital, consisting of several mosques, prayer halls, and schools. In addition, the Khast Imam library holds the oldest Koran in the world!
Next, we will contemplate the exterior of the incredible mausoleum of the great Sheikh Zaynudin. After learning about the history of this important writer and disseminator, we will visit the fascinating Kukeldash Madrasa and the Imam Bukhari Islamic Institute, two important educational buildings from the city's past.
Then, we will drive through the streets of Tashkent to the Chorsus bazaar. Under its incredible blue dome hides a maze of stalls selling fabrics, spices, and other traditional products of Uzbekistan.
We will also see Independence Square, Amir Timur Square, the Museum of Applied Art, and the Taskent Opera House. Finally, we will take you back to the hotel, where we will arrive five and a half hours after we began.
