On this private day trip to Shymkent from Taskent, you'll cross the border of Uzbekistan to discover the third most populated city in Kazakhstan. Let's go!

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Taskent. Get ready to start this private day trip to Shymkent! You'll discover legendary sites of the Silk Road, monuments, and landscapes on a day trip that connects two neighboring cultures.

On our 2-hour journey, we'll cross the border with Kazakhstan, passing through Central Asia's characteristic scenery. We'll cross the trails of the Great Silk Road, an extensive network of trade routes connecting the Mediterranean Sea with East Asia. Plus, we'll pass Mount Kazygurt, where, according to legend, Noah's Ark ran aground after the universal flood.

After switching countries, we'll meet our guide and hop on board another vehicle to continue the route toward Shymkent. Once we arrive, we'll visit this city that dates back to the 9th century. We'll explore the ancient citadel, where you'll find the ruins of the old town, a mosque, and a minaret stand as a testament to the age of this place.

We'll then stroll through the shopping area of Ordabasy and the Zher Ana Complex, a symbol of the Kazakh independence. We'll also reach Independence Park, an immense park inaugurated in 2011 that has become the largest park in Shymkent. You'll also visit Metallurgist Park, a beautiful green space built before World War II by German and Japanese prisoners of war.

Our tour will take us to Arbat, known as the "local Broadway." History lovers will appreciate the Museum of Political Repression Victims, which provides a deep insight into the difficult years of Stalinist repression against the Kazakh people. Lastly, we'll explore the St. Nicholas Cathedral and Abay Park, where the Alley of Glory and the World War II Memorial stand out.

We'll then return to your hotel in Tashkent after 8 hours, concluding our day trip.
