On this tour of Perené Valley and Chanchamayo waterfalls, we'll discover the exuberant landscapes of the interior of Peru. Immerse yourself in tradition and nature in one day!
Description
At the indicated time we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas de Tarma and head for the Perené Valley, known as the "City of the Three Plateaus". Its landscapes will captivate you from start to finish!
To begin with, we'll approach the Carpapata viewpoint and enjoy unbeatable views of Chanchamayo's nature. We'll continue the tour by visiting a coffee processing plant, a perfect stop to taste a cup of this delicious product.
After tasting the rich coffee, we'll venture across the Kimiri suspension bridge, providing a spectacular view of the iconic Nativo Dormido, or "Sleeping Native". Our journey will then lead us to a native Ashaninka community, where we'll be treated to a display of their artistic talents through dance and handicrafts.
From there, we'll continue exploring the Perené Valley crossing Santa Ana to see the Boca del Tigre (mouth of the tiger) Canyon. It's the perfect photo opportunity! Our next destination is the Bayoz waterfall, a true marvel of the Perené Valley. And if one magnificent waterfall isn't enough, don't worry – we have another treat in store for you at the Velo de la Novia waterfall, which stands tall at a remarkable 65 metres (213 feet)!
Should you wish to unwind and rejuvenate, take a refreshing dip in the pristine waters while we provide you with a picnic lunch near the waterfall. With your appetite satiated, we'll continue our excursion in style, enjoying a traditional boat ride along the Perené River.
Finally, we'll return to the mainland and get back to the minibus that'll take us back to the starting point in Tarma. We'll finish the tour of the Perené Valley and the Chanchamayo waterfalls after 12 hours.
