Join us to discover one of the most important cities in Peru on this tour to Huánuco. As well as visiting its main attractions, we'll also explore the archaeological site of Kotosh.

Description

At the time indicated, we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas in Tarma and we'll start our tour to Huánuco and Kotosh. We promise that the early start will be worth it!

To start with, we'll head north towards Huánuco, the city of eternal Spring. After approximately five hours, we'll arrive at our destination and make a stop in a cafe so that you can have breakfast at your own leisure.

With our batteries recharged, we'll start a guided tour around Huánuco, one of Peru's most famous attractions thanks to its pleasant climate. We'll explore the Plaza de Armas, where we'll find the modern Huánuco cathedral, a temple where “el Señor de Burgos” lies, the King and patron saint of the city.

Afterwards, we'll visit Daniel Alomía Robles Mausoleum, composer of the famous musical El Cóndor PasaAfter learning the history of this famous composer, we'll cross the Calicanto bridge, towards the San Cristóbal colonial Church and the San Francisco Church.

Having enjoyed the main attractions in Huánuco, we'll head to the archaeological site of Kotosh. Did you know that it is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Peru? There we'll visit its ruins and the Temple of Crossed Hands, the most important in the area.

To complete the tour, we'll go to Pillco Mozo, the eternal guardian of Huánuco, where we'll explain the legend of this hill. Hungry yet? Here you'll have an hour of free time to eat in one of the local restaurants.

Having satisfied your appetite, we'll visit Casa de la Perricholi, the home of a local actress who, thanks to her intelligence and beauty, managed to charm the Viceroy Manuel Amat. You'll be fascinated by the story! In the final stretch of the tour, we'll take you to the Hacienda Cachigaga, where we'll learn all about drinks made from sugar cane.

We'll taste these traditional products and continue learning about them at Casa Hacienda de Andabamba and Casa de los Artesanos.

Finally, we'll return to Tarma 12 hours after the starting time.
