San Lorenzo & Coimata Tour
San Lorenzo & Coimata Tour
At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarija and head to the town of San Lorenzo, located about 30 minutes away.
During our journey to San Lorenzo, we'll share fun and interesting facts about the history of this town. Did you know that San Lorenzo is famous in Bolivia for being the birthplace of Eustaquio Moto Méndez?
Our tour will allow us to visit and understand more about various monuments of San Lorenzo. We'll visit the house museum of Moto Méndez in which some of his belongings are still kept there. These include the weapons he used in his fight for Bolivian independence.
Our adventure will continue with a visit to the church of San Lorenzo and admire its architecture, built between the 17th and 18th centuries. We'll then move on to the local market of San Lorenzo, where we'll have time to stroll through its many food, drink, and even sweet stalls. Do you know what rosquetes are, or aloja de cebada? You’ll soon find out!
After the visit to the market, we'll arrive at Coimata. Here, we'll take a walk through this natural spa formed by crystal-clear waterfalls. Before arriving, we'll stop to see the 750-hectare San Jacinto dam, which supplies water to the city and without a doubt an enjoyable last stop before heading back to Tarija.
Finally, after about four or five hours of hiking, we'll conclude the tour and you'll be dropped off at your hotel in Tarija.
