Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto to make our way to Moyobamba, where a day filled with adventure awaits us. After a 3-hour journey, we'll reach the port and hop onto a motorised canoe that will take us up to the Tingana Ecological Reserve's entrance.
Once we reach Tingana, we'll enjoy a traditional regional breakfast surrounded by lush vegetation. Having re-energised, we'll begin our motorised canoe ride through the magical flooded forest of the Avisado River, where you'll be able to see animal species that live amongst the imposing palm and banyan trees. These "walking trees", as they are called in local tradition, serve as burrows for snakes, otters, and frogs.
After 3 hours exploring Tingana, we'll make a stop in the middle of this natural setting to enjoy a typical regional lunch, made with locally sourced products. After eating our fill, you'll have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve at your own pace and spot some of the various amphibian species that camouflage themselves in the jungle.
Lastly, we'll begin our journey back to Tarapoto and we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
