Visit Taormina with an experienced guide to learn about all the highlights of one of Sicily's most beautiful cities. You'll explore the historic center of Taormina and see extraordinary sights, such as the Ancient Theater and the Odeon Theater. It'll be a unique experience!

Private Tour of Taormina

At the time of your choice, we'll meet in the Piazzetta Buciuni, near Porta Catania, one of the city's fortresses dating back to the 15th century. In this emblematic place, we'll begin a private tour of Taormina, discovering the most iconic monuments of the Sicilian town.

The first stop on the tour will be the Ancient Theater, currently used as an open-air theater facility. Did you know that this is where the David di Donatello award ceremonies take place? And that it's the second largest Greek theater in Sicily after the one in Syracuse? As you visit this fascinating site of Hellenic origin, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of Taormina, with the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna in the background.

Continuing on, you'll see the imposing Naumachia, a red brick building composed of eighteen large niches interspersed with smaller rectangular niches.

You'll also visit the Odeon Theater, less famous than the Greek building but just as relevant. With your guide, you'll learn about the history and elements that characterize this theater of the Roman Empire, built in the 2nd century AD at the request of Caesar Augustus Octavian.

Strolling through the streets of the historic center, you'll see beautiful buildings, including the 14th-century Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano and the Palazzo Corvaja, both in Gothic style. In addition, you'll take a closer look at the Baroque facade of the Church of St. Joseph, as well as the imposing Taormina Cathedral, built in the 1400s on the remains of a small medieval temple dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari.

Finally, after 2 hours of touring this fascinating town, we'll say our goodbyes.
