Free Tour of Jiantan Mountain
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Jiantan subway station, at exit 2. Then from here, we'll walk to the trails of Jiantan Mountain to start our hiking tour.
During our free tour of Jiantan Mountain, we'll explore a lush tropical forest, admiring different temples and making stops at viewpoints with fantastic views of Taipei.
You'll be able to see the skyscrapers of the Xinyi financial district, the Keelung River, and the Songshan airport. We'll also learn about the military past of Jiantan Mountain. In fact, we'll come across the entrance of old bunkers and guard posts.
As we head back down the mountain, we'll see the great Miramar Ferris wheel, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Dazhi Bridge, among other iconic places.
Finally, after a 3-hour hike, we'll conclude our free tour of Jiantan Mountain outside Dazhi Metro Station.
Optional bike tour
If you want, we can end the free tour at Yuanshan Station instead of Dazhi Subway Station. In this option, we'll do the additional part of the tour on Taipei's public bikes. You'll have to pay for the rental on the day of.
