Explore Dadaocheng: Taipei's Historic District
During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between two different options:
2-hour Tour
At the designated time, we'll meet up at the MRT Daqiaotou subway stop. We'll then proceed to Dadaocheng, renowned for having the highest concentration of traditional stores in Taipei. The streets are lined with Chinese medicine shops, spice emporiums, and traditional clothing boutiques, although in recent years new businesses have modernized the neighborhood and you'll see small centers of contemporary culture and even avant-garde restaurants.
While witnessing the district's modernization, our final stop will be at the Temple of the city's God, known as Xiahai by locals. Nestled amidst modern structures, it encapsulates Taipei's authentic essence and has been a city landmark for over a century.
4-hour Tour
Opting for the 4-hour tour extends your experience with additional stops. Following the initial itinerary, we'll continue our exploration to the Confucius Temple, a place decorated with ceramic appliqués, echoing its educational spirit with a door plaque proclaiming, "Educate without discrimination."
Our journey will then lead us to the Baoan Temple, a significant religious shrine in Taipei, yet less frequented by tourists, allowing an intimate exploration without crowds.
Advantages of a private tour
By booking a private tour, a personal guide will accompany you, and you'll be able to customize your itinerary, travel at your own pace, and even save money if you're traveling in a larger group!
