Panina Falls Day Trip
At 8 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tacna and board a bus to head to Panina Falls, one of the regions greatest attractions.
Along the way, we'll make different stops before arriving at the waterfalls. First, we'll visit the Church of the Lord of the Burnt Feet of Locumba, and learn all about the tradition behind this sacred image, venerated every September 14.
Then it's on to Mirave where we will discover the unusual rock art figures which line its main square. We will also make a stop at the old "La Haciendita" winery, which in colonial times made exquisite wines, including the wine used for church services.
We'll continue driving towards Ilabaya to see the traditional Adobe style houses as well as its church and main square. Our next stop will be the small village of Cambaya, famous for its location surrounded by hills and mountains creating a beautiful landscape.
From here, we'll take a 30 minute walk to the main attraction of the day, the Panina Falls. We'll spend an hour around the waterfalls, admiring the natural beauty of the Andes and the sheet of water that falls 70 metres to crash upon the pool below. Unforgettable!
Here you'll have free time to enjoy the beauty of the area, and to take a dip in the waterfall's natural pool before heading back to Tacna and dropping you off at your hotels at 5:30 pm.
