Segway Tour of Syracuse

We'll meet at your selected time at the parking lot by the port of Syracuse. Here we'll begin to familiarise ourselves with the segways before we start touring the avenues and squares of this historic city on the Sicilian coast.

Did you know that Syracuse was the most important city in Sicily during Ancient Greek times? We'll visit its fascinating Hellenistic remains, including the city walls and the Temple of Apollo, the first two sites we'll discover on our segway tour of Syracuse.

We'll continue along Corso Matteotti until we reach Archimedes Square - can you imagine why this famous Greek engineer and mathematician has a square named after him? We'll find out during the segway tour!

After seeing the elegant fountain of Artemis, we'll ride the segways to the Cathedral of Syracuse. Next to it, we'll find the Benevento de Bosco Palace, an 18th-century baroque building, and the Town Hall. We'll then go to see the Maniace Castle, a military fortress from the 13th century.

Our segway tour of Syracuse will then take us to the Lungomare di Levante, the seafront promenade. Here we'll cross the Umberto Bridge and continue to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears.

We'll take the opportunity to visit the Regional Archaeological Museum, the Catacombs of St. John, and to round off the tour, the theatre and amphitheatre and the emblematic Ear of Dionysius, a limestone cave with an intriguing history.

To conclude the segway tour, we'll return to the meeting point three hours after departure.
