Christmas Markets Tour
I'm dreaming of a... Christmas market! Winter brings a chill to Strasbourg, and with it, one of the most special times of year for Alsace. Ready to delve into the festive spirit? We'll meet up at 9 am in Parc de l'Étoile and hop onto our minibus, before setting off on a tour of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in this region of France.
The first stop of the day will be in Riquewhir. In this charming French town, we'll embark on an hour-and-a-half-walking tour of its streets, admiring the twinkling lights and sparkling decorations that adorn its picturesque architecture. The town is full of Christmas handicraft shops, and you'll find it hard to resist bringing ornaments home to decorate your house!
What's more, the delicious aroma of the typical seasonal foods sold in the Christmas markets will have your mouth watering. We recommend trying pretzels and "bredele de Noël", special Alsatian gingerbread biscuits made at this time of year.
Finally, we'll head to Kaysersberg, a city that undergoes a complete transformation at Christmas time. The Kaysersberg Christmas market is open all four Advent weekends on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On the other days of the week, we'll visit its charming historic center with beautiful old half-timbered houses, magnificent corner windows, and cobblestone streets. From the village, we'll also have magnificent views of the medieval castle.
At the end of the day, we'll drive back to Strasbourg, arriving at around 7:30 pm.
