Stockholm Food Tour
Stockholm Food Tour
Our food tour of Stockholm begins at the famous Östermalm market, located in the center of the city.
As we walk through the different market stalls, we’ll build up our appetite while observing the products, which will help us better understand Scandinavian cuisine. In the case of Sweden, we’ll see that there’s a wide variety of recipes that go far beyond the classic meatballs. During our visit to this popular market, we’ll enjoy a tasting of different Swedish meats and cheeses. A great way to start building your appetite.
Afterward, we’ll head to some of Stockholm’s more modern neighborhoods to talk about the city’s culinary innovation, which has brought it so much recognition. We’ll discuss reinvented traditional dishes and the new wave of healthy cuisine found in the city. We’ll go to a restaurant to enjoy a lunch featuring Swedish seafood. This meal will offer a variety of flavors with each bite. After this, it’s time to discover the sweeter side of Stockholm.
The food tour will take us to a traditional chocolate shop, where we’ll learn about the artisanal process used to create cocoa-based products. The next stop will be Hötorgshallen, a market that combines tradition and multicultural influences under a modernist roof. Here, we’ll learn about the global influences on Swedish cuisine.
To finish, we’ll walk through the streets of Gamla Stan, or the Old Town, until we reach a small polkagris factory, a traditional Swedish candy. We’ll end the food tour in a local courtyard, where you’ll enjoy a cinnamon roll, the well-known kanelbullar, accompanied by a coffee.
3 hours later, we’ll say our goodbyes after learning all about Swedish cuisine. See you next time!
